I think it's a curious affliction called life outside chess.com. I have it. You should try it too.
Why most players on chess.com deny rematch?

president_max has it right. maybe you have time for another game, maybe you don't.
alternatively, maybe after the first game, you don't think enough of the opponent's play to grant a rematch.

I accept rematches 90% of the time, but when a woman comes into my office, sits on my lap and sticks her tongue in my ear, I have a hard time thinking the 7-8 moves ahead I need in order to beat people.

I completely agree with you it's should be courtesy, especially in a blitz matches , such as 3|2mins, 3mins, 5mins.
Even in my local chess club , they hold tournament 3|2mins with 2 games each players 8 rounds.
Lot of people cowards here and if they win luckily on time , they scared to play another one.

Oh yeah and people saying staff like : people have life's outside chess.com bla bla bla YEAH RIGHT! I'm sure they are so busy logging in to Chess.com playing one 3|0 mins game and don't have time for another one yeah right.
Everyone is so busy, we have businessman and businesswomen here, such a business community here.

Some possible reasons.
- They want to hold on to their victory, against you and play someone else.
- They don't have time.
-To avoid mental stress after a really close matchup
-To piss you off.
-They win by time in a lost position so want to avoid getting into trouble again.
Just move on. No one is forced to give you a rematch, and if that person doesn't want to play then it's not worth your time to fret over it, play someone else.

If my opponent requests a rematch before I put in another seek, I usually accept (unless he's annoying and by that I mean he insists on playing all the way to mate no matter how lost his game is or he lets his clock run almost all the way down before resigning). Having said that, I don't get why many players are outraged that their rematch requests were denied. Some member's profiles are filled with angry comments by opponents who were not given rematches. If someone rejects your rematch request, get over it and move on to the next opponent, for Pete's sake!

I'm busy improving my spelling. Perhaps you should be too.
The rest of us are all biz folks here which is precisely why you should mind your own biz if you had one.

No, no it is not. Why you want a re-match anyway? There are plenty of other opponents to play with, so I really dont get WHY?
I prefer to play different opponent every time and have no intrest on rematches none what so ever.
Exactly. I rarely request a rematch because I don't care about getting even, especially when I don't even know the person. Makes no difference to me if I play him again or someone else. I think it's funny that some refer to their opponents as "runners" because their rematch requests were rejected. Folks, if the guy beat you, he's probably not scared to play you again.

I, for one, refuse a rematch if my opponent played on in a lost position (like a piece down in a 15 minutes game).

I've always been put off by many opponents wanting "revenge" for a loss (their word, used often). To me, this is taking the game way too personally. I don't feel right contributing to that. It also seems to add a little fuel to their desire to win, which has, several times in my experience, been just enough to push them into a suspiciously large gain in skill from game 1 to game 2.
Also, I often don't like playing multiple games without a break between anyway. I pour a lot into every game and don't really feel like doing it again immediately afterwards.
One day a guy gave me 5 rematches, lost every game. Eventually I got bored of ,well. Beating him again and again. He was well beneath my rating, but he kept sending me rematch requests. After the 5th time (he had beaten me once) I decided it wasn't fun not helping my chess, so I declined.
If you are much above my rating, beat me terribly, and then ask for a rematch then I probably (sometimes I might) accept, as, if it was a boring game you won easily, you probably only want a rematch for the points of beating me.

I don't accept rematch if I won or lost within ten moves. In other words, I don't find any accomplishment or fun on way under or overly match opponents.

Why does Chess.com allow this question to be asked over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over . . .
