Why most players on chess.com deny rematch?

Because they want unique games against every opponent. And why? Because they love chess!

Often one may only have time for one game. Also, if the original game was a mismatch either way, why bother with a rematch? Either you are a tool looking to pad your wins against weaker opponents or you are a tool who can’t handle having a losing record against a random opponent. Regardless, you are always a tool of the system.

If I lose a match and feel like I'm not playing the best I'll deny the rematch.

However...

If I win the game and they ask for a rematch, I'll accept all day long when I'm winning.

It's a poker technique where the other player is on 'tilt.' They aren't playing their best. I'm calm and playing well, while they are pissed off.

I'll go up 50 points doing that strategy.

Ride your winning streaks... walk away from your losing streaks.

Most players do rematch in other chess platforms.

The ambient in Chess.com is not friendly.

This is untrue.  I've had literally this exact same discussion on every chess site I've ever been on, and I've probably been on all of them.

That's interesting.  I would've thought the rematch topic rarely came up in forums.

We need to work on your comebacks.  Next time go with the tried-and-true "I know you are but what am I?"

For the love of all that's holy, chess.com, give us a disable rematch setting already

I'm already seeing holes in that proposal

I would keep the rematch request button but change its function.  When pressed, the person's account would be immediately terminated.

Your mom's untrue.

If you play someone and they request a rematch, you you decline it, and they keep requesting?  Right click on there name, block them, and move on.  Way to much drama on the rematch thing.

Yeah, we don't want a solution to the rematch controversy.  What the hell would we talk about?!

I agree with abu_99999, a simple courtesy to accept a second game....however brilliant you consider yourself to be!

A hot bowl of drama drizzled with maple syrup, sprinkled with brown sugar and cinnamon, and paired with a vegetable omelette and coffee is the absolute best way to start a day.

I've always liked cinnamon :-)

It's quite simple: because I don't want to, for whatever reason. I accept and offer rematches occasionally. Difference is, I don't get butthurt if someone denies one. Not trying to be rude to OP, but the rematch threads are played out.
