SO ive been playing about 2.5 months(ik my thing says like 2 years but i only played like 10 games and they were all blitz.)

Anyways after about 2.5 months im an 1100 and getting stuck in that range. my question is not how to reach 1500 becuse i already no the exact answers i would recieve but do i have the mental capibilities to reach 1500.

IQ: 130

Grades: Last year of middle school i recieved straight A's although one was very very close to being a B

Deit: Probably not one of my good spots i eat whatever kinda which im sure if i cut out the junk food and added more lean meats i could add 1 or 2 iq points but sometimes i guess you have to live life with enjoyment.

Illicit Substances : None although i have been offered multilple times

Anyways to inrease my critical thinking skills so   can reach 1500

IQ is not important for chess, as long as it is above average 100.

Keep in mind, if you tested your IQ online, 130 is very low. People are getting +30~ for the IQ, they would get, if it would be tested by proffesionals in real life. For example I got 173 online and my real IQ is 141.

If you like chess, keep doing it. After 4 years you will see how good you can actually become.

Even highly unintelligent people can easily achieve the rating you're aiming for. Easily. It just takes time. Nobody in the history of chess has hit their ceiling after less than three months lol.

I think most IQ test are lame. they ask you a question and you have to click the correct choice and the correct answer if always visible (it is one of of the choices). I nearly always get 100% correct in multiple choice questions. because it is relatively easy to opt the other answers out.

a test should have answers to selct a test should only write a question and you should be forced to write an answer.

multiple choice answers are for chrildren.

Multiple choice on math tests are terrifying though...

When I was teaching, I once made a test where all the correct answers were 'C'. It took the students about twice as long to complete the test. I think they actually went back and checked their work because they couldn't believe all the answers were the same.

Do you have any other skills?

Perhaps at some point you've tried to play a sport, learn a language, or play a musical instrument?

After 2 months of any of these, you're still going to be a complete beginner. After a few hours a day, 5 to 7 days a week, for a year, you'll still be a relative beginner

That's what chess is like. Ask again in 2.5 years. Although by then, you'll probably be 1500.

No instuments are for people without an skills to feel good about themselves.I am quite good in  math i win those competitions ins school i am not bilenguial however if you count computer programing languages i  i was penlinguil for awhile(yes a know penta isnt the correct form of the word lighten up and take a joke you silly oafs who are critizing my words)

Thomas, your IQ is not 130. There is no IQ testing site online, which is actually telling truth. Only way to test it is real life test, with a proffesional tester.

And true proffesionals would never recomend online IQ testing sites.

I more or less know about this topic, as my uncle's work is related to this.

You can link that site to me. I will take a look.

Anyway, this is about chess, not about IQ :).

IQ and chess is not very related.

At this point in your development, you might consider focusing on tactics and reviewing your games. And perhaps putting opening study beyond the basic opening principles on hold.

I just took this. You should not be judging your IQ by this. For a start, how long you take to complete these 20 questions (that's right, a massive 20 questions) affects the IQ score you're given even though the website does not even tell you that you're being timed, let alone being scored on it. I only worked this out when I was messing around afterwards trying to work out how many correct answers you gave to score 130 and being very confused by what I found.

If that isn't bad enough, every one of the questions is pretty easy. Ironically the only question which took me more than 30 seconds was the one in which you have to unjumble the word "England". Shame on me.

If you want proof of my claims that this test is beyond worthless, try the link again now but quickly go through the test answering the questions with the far right hand side answer on every question. That will give you 6 correct answers out of 20 and will score you an IQ of 143 (give or take a point if you did it slower/faster than myself).

If you're interested, I googled the answers: http://www.free-iqtest.net/answers.asp?q=1. As I got them all right, I'll explain any that you don't understand if you wish.
