Yeah till you rip off that "cover" after a martini-filled evening at the lounge and find out it was really a dude all along!

Haven't you ever heard "Funky Cold Medina," by my man Tone Loc (1988)??

Laughing  And with that we're "Off to the Races" in this thread.

So is testosterone the real problem for both sexes, and the royal game?

jrb136- It was valiant of u to start a forum on the topic, but unfortunately the topics in forums are very subject to change.

I say hi at the beginning of pretty much every game just out of courteousy as well and often say gg at the end. So, good game & have fun!

My only comment is that chess.com is indeed social media, even if you don't chat. If you play games or solve puzzles, you're still "ranking" information up or down through participation.

If you were saying it's still social media because you interact with other people, then you'd have an argument... not that I'd agree an online chess game is social when you don't talk Sealed

But you say it's social media because you rank information up or down?  Besides not knowing what that means, it doesn't seem information interaction is social at all.

That got me too.

Technically that's all social media is, the collective ranking (good or bad) of data. Chatting is just one way users exchange the rationale behind their ranking decisions.

just to clarify zborg, re. social media, I was thinking more in terms of chatting while playing, adding to the persons notes and as evidenced in friends and trophies and, not in the public domain, message exchanges.

I suspect only a small portion of folk who engage in this more personalised chat also do forums. I guess I'm a rarity and do all of these (with due decorum) and love the cocktail that combines this with serious chess playing

my experience has tought me that a gentleman's incIlination to play with ladies is inversely related to number of matches lost to the ladies.
