Worst sportsmanship I've ever come across..

Spend a reasonable length of time in the forum devoted specifically to the topic of cheating will rapidly convince you of the prevalence of the problem.

That doesn't absolve folks who rapidly jump to conclusions because they lose.

But we all know that chess players are thoroughly eccentric, and that gamers with chess engines love to piss them off.

On balance, just live with it.  Very Simple.

Long streaks of losing (everyone gets them) induces many people to believe this site is loaded with cheats.

I conjecture they are correct.

I don't have any evidence one way or the other, but my intuition is cheating is probably pretty rare.  It just seems like a lot of pointless effort.

(Also, I don't know why a losing streak would suggest others are cheating unless you're one of the top players in the world.)

Long streaks of losing, against equally rated players, does not make "statistical sense."

Unless you're hitting the bottle, or thoroughly exhausted and lacking in sleep.

One long running story (from about a year ago) in the Cheat Forum, involved a USCF National Master would destroyed people at Blitz, Bullet, and OTB, but he couldn't raise his STANDARD rating on this site above @1700.

Many concluded the cheats were "targeting him."

The Site eventually decided to "fix the problem" by pumping up everyone's ratings by @300-500 points in STANDARD, in order to "even things out."

Then life simply "moved on," in our sleepy little chess town.

Maybe he can't help it if he is British. His behavior and attitudes are out of his control due to his flawed nationality. Poor guy.

I agree with the one poster I think there is a lot less cheating  than some people believe. I mainly play 3 day correspondace and seldom have any problems.

So your solution is to emulate his behaviour?
