The automated events have a minimum number of players. Don't recall if it is 4 or 5, though one of those might be for Arenas and the other for Swiss.

The best way to find out is to get four players together to try it.

The minimum for automated tournaments is four players.

For arenas, that was. For Swiss tournaments, I believe the player minimum was always 4. And for arenas, that number has been reduced to 4 as well.

Swiss events most certainly used to be higher than 4. I don't know when it changed for sure.
