chess.com more and more disappointing, one step away from leaving forever

Tell me how one can’t come to the conclusion that the chess.com algorithms are terribly flawed and the system is always glitching. I was just playing a game with the crucial moments at hand and guess what, again, and again, the chess.com platform disconnects me. How? I was clearly connected, Infact I went even as so far as when it disconnected me to connect to a peers hotspot. I have 5g if that even means anything. I’m not based in the middle of no where or a dessert. It’s simply bonkers and man the algorithm also seems to match me with way lower players when it gets me on tilt. Why is there no ranking option on the phone like there is on the website? I’m in one the largest cities in the world with stellar connection. Simply unbelievable and I lose rating for that disconnect too? How? Why? Unreal I’m furious.

Man so disappointing when you get yourself invested into the games only to be snubbed.

Sportsmanship is also nonexistent on this platform.

Happened a view time to me too... sucks

Yeah, past two days have been horrible. Lots of players disconnecting and I have had lots of connection issues also.

Impossible to play in this situation. Return the money.

It's a huge site and they want all your memory.  Add to that server crashes due to membership doubling (tripling?) thanks to Covid and Beth Harmon, and yeah there can be problems.  There are a few things you can do though that might help...

They want all your memory? You mean money, or are we talking Orwell here? ;-)

Oh, and I kept seeing the name Beth Harmon, not knowing who that was. Had to Google it, lol.

Easy, no more new members before increase the capacity of the server, limit the number of member playing at the same time but ensure the quality of the service. Better less and good that more and bad.  About the support document, sorry but the content is ridiculous for internet users with and small experience.

Same here. Constar issues of app getting stuck and MY clock apparently keeps on running and of course when it is activated again I have almost no time left. Many times today. You have to fix this please Contact me I can help with description of events

Same here, happens maybe 1 in 5 times. Last game stayed stuck until the clock ran out (6'30'') and lost on time...

My guess is management/ownership figures that the small number of people leaving won't make much of a dent in the recent massive membership increase. So, don't expect Chess.com to be too worried.

I'm sorry about that guys, chess.com tries their best to fix everything. Occasionally, it is because of internet issues. If there are too many players online, the severs might be laggy, due to the high amount of players.

Easy, limit the maximum player number at the same time to the maximum capacity of the servers. Better for everybody.

 Thanks !

For other people, tltr :

  • a fix is coming soon;
  • in the mean time you can try to close/open the app to start the clock again, or offer draw and cancel.
