Just used bitcoin to buy a 1 year platinum, but account is not yet updated - how long should it take to process?

I'm having the same issue. Not sure why the changes are immediate...

It is possible it is not as instantaneous as using a medium denominated in U.S. dollars or credit. For the reciever of bitcoin to be sure that the transaction is settled, it takes a little time for various computers to independently confirm the transaction and record it onto the blockchain. Someone probably has to manually look at new memberships paid for by bitcoin and review the transactions and then manually approve the membership.

That's the first time I've ever heard winer say anything legitimate.  Needless to say, I'm a bit disappointed.

It is not the transaction itself that is improved by using bitcoin vs. paypal. It is a matter of the mechanics and the philosophy behind the currency itself.
