A hard lesson I learned today: always let escape squares for your pieces
Do not guard your king with your queen...or risk quickly losing your queen.

Also, double bishops are better than double knights, but one knight is better than one bishop =P. Mostly opinion, but here's fact: Knights are better at the beginning of the game, bishops are better at the end. Flying2828 fact =P.
if you lose one of the bishops then your other bishop will never be able to capture pieces on a different-colored square
on the other hand, either knights can be on both-colored squares. but a knight is limited to the amount of squares it can move
so both pieces have disadvantages and advantages
