Hello

How can I stop the site keeping on prompting me to link my Facebook account? I keep clicking no but it keeps coming back and nagging me all the time. Its very annoying.

Thanks

Do you mean TimeLine ?

In CC?

Sorry I have no idea what you mean by TimeLine or CC.

When playing a game I regularly get a message under the board to link my chess.com and Facebook accounts. I cant remember the exact wording of this. I click the "no" or whatever equivalent button there is and it goes away until it prompts me again later or next day.

Quite likely because if you have a chess.com account and a facebook account its showing because you're only allowed one account, so you can choose one or the other (chess.com account or facebook account) to play from, you can merge them or close one but you can't play from both.

RDP., you mean this, right? Blue stuff.

kohai, is it possible to disallow this thing in case of dissatisfaction?

That is facebook as far as i know. It shows on my facebook page aswell.

Yes MSC157, thats it. However when I click the "No thanks" it just asks me again later.

I dont play from Facebook. I play chess here and I use Facebook for keeping in touch with friends. How can I stop this?

I can make the account a Chess.com account so you'd log in straight onto this site, you still keep the facebook account as thats registered with them but it means you won't be able to play via the facebook site. I admit it does take patience to ignore the facebook timeline, i keep clicking on no aswell even on the facebook site. Think about the above option, in the meantime I'll see if there is anything we can do this end to remove it

While you're at it, how about getting rid of that meebo bar; it's very irritating.  I always sign out of it but it shows up later when I come back.

Thanks Kohai.

I thought the account was a chess.com account. The account was created here and not via Facebook. I log in here and not via Facebook. I only play here and not via Facebook anyway. Not sure why this keeps popping up as this account has nothing to do with Facebook. What must I do to do the change you mentioned?

Avatar of kohai

No, looks like its been merged with a facebook account.

I've found out now that if it does keep appearing even after declining, then it is broken as once you click on No Thanks, its supposed to accept that and not keep asking you.

I can change it for you to a full Chess.com account if thats what you want

Kohai, It would be great if you could do that for me. Thanks :)

I am in the exact same situation.  I only play here, and I have to keep clicking "No Thanks" every time I log in here.

I've got them merged on mine. Can play on either if I want to--but I usually play here. Just letting the facebook folks know I play so if they want to start a game, they've got that option.

That's easy to get rid of. Here:

http://www.chess.com/home/privacy

Set it to Chat Bar: Never Show.
