getting disconnected mid game

Am I the only one this happens to?
Your local connection is only a small part of the overall path the traffic takes. With the increases in overall internet traffic, there are likely to be more issues than normal.

This has been an issue long before the current situation.
Yes, it can still happen but now it is potentially a little more likely. For the website, the information in the following can help:

Not sure if this is the same issue but I will be in the middle of the game and the time for my opponent just sinks to 0 and nothing happens. If I refresh the game it says I lost. I can't even up my rating this happens so frequently, so frustrating to the point of quitting!

That sounds very much like you've had some sort of connection issue - refreshing the game after your clock has run down is going to tell you that you lost on time. If you notice the clock running for a long time, try refreshing then, and maybe your connection will re-establish before you run out of time. You could also try some of the other settings in the support article that Martin supplied.

This happens to me only on Chess.com, so frustrating. I can use my net as normal throughout the day, or play other online games with no trouble, however, when I play on Chess.com I often just disconnect and lose due to connection issues. I have followed the support page they have put out but it's still a problem. I've cancelled my membership because of it.

There is no way for me to tell if I am having connection issues, if we are low on time that is not an option and if the opponent is taking a long time to play that can easily be mistaken for a disconnect.
