You think that's long. There's a game in this other site where they use Fischer time in a correspondene game. That certain game started 2005 and is still ongoing.

Hello, Gold membership today, Platium was yesterday. So it is a pity. I canceled my membership total. But it wasn´t one good idea. I lost at once four games on time. Zwieg.

After weeks of my own Neverending Story, I thought I was close to the end... when I last checked last night, my opponent was out of vacation and had 10 hours left on his clock...
This morning, at about the time where he should have timed out, he now has 24 hours of time again :-(
Note that the following was just a record from when I started tracking it. There have been many months of this, so far...
1/28/2013 12:26 pm Opponent has 15 hours 15 min of vacation and 24 hours to make move #24
1/29/2013 11:01 pm Opponent has 1 day 6 hours of vacation time left, and 26 hours to make move #24
1/31/2013 10:09 am Opponent has 17 hours 45 minutes of vacation time left, and 26 hours to make move #24
1/31/2013 5:58 pm 9 hours 45 min of vacation time left, and 30 hours to make move #24
2/1/2013 12:56 am 2 hours 45 min of vacation time left, and 30 hours to make move 24
2/1/2013 1:55 pm 14 hours of vacation, and 30 hours to make move 24
2/2/2013 2:44 pm no vacation, 16 hours on clock to make move 24

At nearly the final hour, with no new "clock bumps" or sudden vacation increases, my opponent made a move. I made a reply yesterday, and, as of today, he has suddenly gained new vacation again (1 day and 12 hours, though he may have gained more, and just used some overnight.) That 1st and 15th vacation bump that everyone gets seems to come to him daily, perhaps... This might be why he has so much of it :-)
Have you reported this never-ending-story to staff?

when you renew membership of whatever level, before it's actually due, you get more vacation added. then if you change your membership from anything to anything, which is free, then you get aload more vacation time added. it's pretty simple.
Buy diamonds or gold now! (the economy is bad)
