What is the point of someone taking an hour to write out detailed steps for you to follow when that is exactly what is in the manual?

It seems like a decently written manual. Read the manual again and give it a try. Several tries. Many tries.

You will get it. And you will have figured out how to work it so that when next week there is a different time control, you will be all set.
