How To Stop Getting Daily Chess Recommended Matches?

Sort:

I don't play Daily Chess format much, but I still get "Recommended Matches." I restricted the ability for people to challenge me to Daily Chess in my settings, but I still get these recommended matches? Is there a way to turn off these recommendations?

I think it's just some upgrade added recently, and yeah don't much care for it either. To be able to turn it off only would suggest settings and see there under daily if there's anything. I'm sure Martin the mod can help you with it.

Yeah, I'm sure someone knows how to solve this. It probably isn't some update though because I've had these daily recommendations for months, but it wasn't until just recently I thought that maybe there was a way to stop getting the recommendations all together.

You can turn this annoying stuff off in the home page settings.

RabbitRover

I used to know how to do that...

I switched it on for me, but never used it. Now I have forgotten, sorry:/

Home Setting -> Daily Chess

then you can change what you want, you can put "allow challenges" to nobody and "max # of games" to 1 (it can't be 0).

Here you go, its right here in global settings

That's not where it's configured.

That feature is part of the Homepage settings. Settings > Home Settings and uncheck the Daily section.

Thanks @Martin_Stahl That worked happy.png

Uh oh, is this a chess.com bug? The same problem returned. This time you can see my Daily settings are set to challenges from "Nobody" yet I just now got a Daily challenge. How is this possible? Is this the recommended match feature somehow? I would imagine that would be the default 3 day time control and not 1 day?

I don't really want these incoming challenges because they are time consuming and don't feel like live chess: https://www.chess.com/blog/KeSetoKaiba/my-current-thoughts-on-daily-chess-
format

Here is a screenshot of my settings (Nobody should be able to send a Daily Challenge) and then the screenshot of a challenge I just got sent. Bug?

It shouldn't be as recommendations come from friends and people you've played before I believe.

You might toggle the setting and Save, then toggle it back on. After, get a test challenge to see if it really is a bug.

I sent you but but decline it if it works. I'm trying to clear all my daily games LOL, I still had about 8 games going a week ago.

@Martin_Stahl I took your advice of toggling back on and then off and saving. I then asked @DixieLandTN to try sending me a challenge (they shouldn't be able to, since my settings should allow "Nobody" to send, yet here is their challenge, so yeah it looks like a chess.com bug).

Martin_Stahl

Found out this is a known issue.
