If you are on the free week trial for a Platinum, since October 24th, you are already past seven days, so your card will be charged.
I don't understand why your platinum would renew on December 20th, unless you bought two months.
At any rate, if you want to upgrade to Diamond for a month using the gift, you should write to support@chess.com for help.
