I would upgrade my account, but.....

     This is a great site, and I have played many games in the month since I joined.  My game has improved greatly, which was my goal in joining.  The CHESS.COM cummunity is great, which the exception of one jerk.  

     I would upgrade my account but I grow frustrated by LIVE CHESS.  I seem to run at about a 25% or more disconnection rate.  Yes, I did read the disclaimer before playing.  I have switched to MOZILLA FIREFOX as recommended, but I still disconnect often.  Winning or losing, I hate to get disconnected in the middle of a game I am enjoying. 

     I guess, for now, I will play TURN BASED chess.  The game is much slower but I have finished every game.  In LIVE CHESS, I tend to play 5 minute games or less so that I can finish the game.

it maybe your pc. I play on IE and firefox and never get disconnected. upgrade

i'm sorry to hear about your frustration. i too am frustrated with live chess, which is why we are totally re-writing it in the coming months to work 100% of the time! for now, don't consider live chess something you are paying for, because you are not. :)

there are plenty of other reasons to upgrade your account! :) i promise - this year is the year for live chess!

At this time I also would not upgrade my account. Only because I have trouble with everything on chess.com. However I think it is more a problem with my pc than a problem with chess.com.

Live chess crashes my computer, playing against the computer is impossible as there are no pieces on the board (even after loading jchess), online chess frequently crashes my browser(firefox), tactics training tells me I have skipped a problem even though I solved it, and recently in tournament chess I lost several games where my opponent had lost on time and when I checked why I didn't get credited with the win I had found for some reason I lost by resignation.

So before I upgrade my membership I think I have to upgrade my computer.

ummm yeah, that sounds pretty bad. does someone have access to your account?? what operating system are you using? what version of firefox (get the latest!)?

yes i agree  i never get disconnected get mozilla firefox and upgrade . chess.com    is alsome chess site DO IT !!!!!!!!!

 There are no other users on my computer, I'm using windows xp, and firefox3.

     I 100% agree with you.  The LIVE CHESS is free which is why I didn't complain too much.  Even a 75% game completion rate is fun when the service is free.  If the LIVE CHESS worked all the time it would be worth having an upgraded account. 

     CHESS.COM is a great place to play.  I am playing at 1450 to 1500 chess (Turn Based, not Live Chess) and I don't have any friends that play at that level.  This place is the only way I can play against people of equal skill. 

     I look forward to any LIVE CHESS improvements.
