In mobile app, on Android, I can't find the same lessons that I can find using the web client

Hello, I'm using Android, and in the mobile app I can't find the lessons that I'm taking currently on my desktop computer in web browser. For example, in the mobile app I can't find in the 'Intermediate' lessons the 'Make the Most of Your Pieces' chapter or any of these:

Thanks.

Hi @erikrahoci

They have not implemented the new lesson format into the Android app as of yet. You will only be able to access the "old" lessons. Your best bet is to access the website by using a mobile web browser like Chrome for Android. Then instead of using the app access www.chess.com on your mobile Android device and you will be able to get to the "new" video lessons.

@erikrahoci hope that helps you out. That is what I do. Basically the new video lessons are not part of the app experience yet. You can only get to them by accessing the website.

@flashlight002

Thank you.

That really solves it, but I'm hoping that they will put in the new lessons in the app soon.

They are available on IOS. Lame

flashlight002

@cartman314 yes we are all aware of that. I have Android and Apple devices so I can see what the difference is between the 2 apps. The iOS app is more up to date in terms of features. I'm not sure what's "lame" about the discussion though. Or are the lessons lame? Or is the app lame?

@erikrahoci doesn't even have an iOS device so your input doesn't help him in any way. He was asking specifically about his Android device and the Android app. And he got a helpful answer.

The Android app is really really needing a features update now.

Almost 2020 and still waiting for the update on Android.......

They should at the very least be transparent about them not being accessible from android on purchase.

If you want to access the (new) lessons more conveniently on android I recommend adding a shortcut (I think that is what it is called in english) to your home screen. See pictures

The new lessons are the default lessons. The new version of the app has them and the site has been rolling out that version, so I would guess most people should have access to it soon; it's version 4.x.x

When is the new update expected to be released for android? The latest version I can access is 3.8.8.

Last I read it was being rolled out to members in waves. I've been seeing posts of people that have updated, so I imagine it is still in process.

Try signing up as a beta member to get the most up to date app

I might do. Is it very unstable?

HI Olav happy.png

No it is not very unstable. From time to time you might find a glitch, but so far I don't find it unstable at all.  It isn't like it is going to crash on you. happy.png I use  the Beta website and apps and have few problems.  It's the versions obviously that the developers are testing new features, so with the new features one might find issues but on the basic staple site and app commands and sections I have found no issues. Give it a try. If you don't like it you can always opt out and reload the normal app or the normal website. You have nothing to loose by trying beta..
