Keeping Users from Tracking You

The only way to block out users is from sending you private notes and messages, as well as the chat screen when you actually play.

Otherwise, forums are free game. There is some etiquette that is recommended, but the staff does not involve themselves in that area simply because you can cease using it (like reading and contributing to forums).

Chess.com is not Facebook, so no superblock feature here.

I didn't know you could track users without +friending them either, until recently. It's very useful for some high-end titled players, so that many people can track what they're doing. It's good for them, good for the site, and it would be a pain for them to have to +friend every person who wants to track them.

In the meantime I think I've +followed some people. I'll go check on Windows 7 though. :-)

Geez, dude; you make it sound like a bad thing.

DoctorWho

I'm not sure if this will keep undesireable members from tracking you; but I think that if they are blocked from viewing and posting into any content you manage, they will also be blocked from receiving notifications when you or anyone post into that content.

Go to My Home >> Account >> Manage Your Privacy Settings. Once there, you can change your Content Settings selections from All Members/Anyone to Only My Friends. If you are having problems with specific members, you can add their handles under Blocked Members at the bottom of that page.

Anything beyond this, I would suggest contacting the chess.com admins. I hope this helps.

Thanks. I did all of the above and the problem has been solved.

Am I on your friends list?

Come to Math Land and stay a while.

corrijean

I think I'm already there. Laughing

Uh-oh, for a second I thought that said Meth Land...

15 years ago...maybe.

But I will, on occasion, visit kitchen land: with their wide assortment of pots, bowls, etc.

That's as good an explanation as any for the truly freakish phenomena to be found in the old Kitschens thread. Smile

That was one of my all time favorite threads.

I'm more worried about keeping trackers from using me.
