Leaving the site.

I am leaving this site and returning to an alternative indefinitely because I'm sick of the bs going on around here.

I am apparently on some kind of "warned" status, yet noone told me about it. I received no message about it.

The only way I am made aware is I have to spend about 15 minutes waiting for a 3-2 game. I was not even done the courtesy of being made aware

Then when I do get a game notifications are not working - no pop-up, no sound, no flashing tab. So I have no way of knowing except to waiting looking at the same tabe for 15 minutes hoping I'll finally be allowed to play a game.

If I do get a game but am on a different tab I am automatically forfeited from the game even though no moves were played by either side. This has happened multiple times because I have no notifications.

If you want to punish someone for bad behaviour (and I really have very little idea why that would be me for, maybe I got a bit hot-tempered after someone went out of their way to play obnoxiously), then at least give them a clear and upfront punishment. Make them unable to play for a few days, what is wrong with that instead? Too logical and fair? This is a cruel and unusual punishment.

So if I want to get good status back what the f--- am I supposed to do? Sit and wait for half an hour staring at the same screen? YOU'RE the ones causing these abandoned games because my default, completely normal and typical windows 10 chrome setup isn't registering notifications that a game has started. If anyone should be banned from doing something it's you from stopping people from playing, then your site would be better.

So this is it, the final straw. You finally broke the person with even as much of an addiction as I have. You did it by not allowing me to play. It's like not allowing a customer to buy something in the shop. Losing game after game based on "game abandoned" that I didn't even see as the final insult. I don't need this.

I doubt you are on some secret punishment list.

You should at least write to support@chess.com and see if they have anything to say.

Are you on Santa's naughty list?

It seems you already know the most likely reason. If you were abusive in chat then that is against the site rules.

BaronVonChickenpants

It seems OP knows they were abusive in chat or else they wouldn't have mentioned it, I think you know yourself when you have crossed a line. People seem to gt so upset when they lose this game

"...maybe I got a bit hot-tempered after someone went out of their way to play obnoxiously..."

Play "obnoxiously"?  What's that?  Playing on despite a sure loss?  Dragging out the checkmate for many moves so you'll suffer for not simply resigning?

I'm never bothered when an opponent makes me complete the game with a checkmate even when he clearly has no chance: it's within the rules of the game that he may do so.

So you abandon games and types obscenities at people.

Yeah, I remember you from the forums years ago. I think you'd agree that "level headed" or "nice guy" isn't an accurate description of you.

So chess.com threw you in the naughty pool where you only play other abusers and you don't like it. Ok, well, as with most anyone shouting "I'll never come back to this business" the owners are usually thinking "I hope he keeps his promise."

And remember, to him "obnoxious" play is anyone who calculates.

Oh my god, I get it already, someone said some mean things to you as a kid, and it really hurt your feelings, so you didn't like what I said to that user even though she wasn't even female and she wasn't even a kid. You're reliving your childhood trauma. I'm soooo sorry already, Jesus.

Instead of whining about it here, go whine to a therapist.

You're wrong. I remember him from years ago.

Go post in some 12 year old's counting thread, or wherever it is you hang out.
