Lost points!

I lost to a player rated 600 points greater than me. I lost 200 points. Can this be correct? If not...how do I get it fixed?

Figured out my problem. I didn't realize there was a different rating for regular chess and 980 chess. I accidently entered a 980 tournament (first time playing it).  Couldn't figure out what was wrong. Needless to say I am getting smoked in that tourny!!
