Mod ? Never mind.

You have a thread / alphabet spammer in General Discussions. Hes got as far as l, i, z, q and e so far.
What on Earth are you talking about?
Someone started spamming in the forums, and for the first time in oooh about 12 years of being on here, I actually posted a message to the mods in the H&S forum. I then later changed my mind, moved the thread to off topics. Now we're just talking about random stuff.

Hubby and I don't really bother with birthdays, we haven't since after about our 2nd year together when we realised neither us really liked all the fuss that goes with it. So since then, I may do him a steak dinner, I may not, depends on if he's hungry (lol, man eats like a damn Hobbit) or has gone to bed and slept straight through the evening. Same goes for valentines day.
My birthday was on Oct 9th, but as he always thought it was the 6th, and told all of his family thats the date it was on, I just changed the date from the 9th to 6th lol. I told him about a decade ago to ignore my birthdays, and I actually meant it. I tend to think 16, 18 and 21st's are for celbrating ... after that it seems to go up by the decades, and once past 40 or 50, not many really want to be reminded.

There was a point in my life where i had to go through 3 birthdays, and an anniversary, before my birthday rolled around. Guess who did not want to see a cake?

LOL, I think my mums birthday and anniversary, 27th and 28th Nov were the last ones, so she was making cakes for everyone else the preceeding time. If no-one brought her one, she didn't get one. So I, having the better of the memory in my family got nominated every year from the age of about 16 upward to buy her her birthday cake. (years later, I find out she actually never even liked cake, I'd never noticed though how every one else had eaten her cake, except me and her)/ My dad covered the cost for me but only for two years. (cheapskate!)
I vaguely remember my auntie asking my mum (mum told me a decade or so later) ) if they could do a big joint 30th party for my cousin and myself. She and I looked like twins and were more like sisters growing up, but my mum said no. Apart from the fact no-one in my family could ever hide anything from me, my mum knew I'd never turn up. I'd find out about it and disappear for the entire weekend up in the mountains out of cell phone range So thankfully they learnt from there on in never to try anything like that for me.
My parents were sneaky for my 18th though. They decided they wanted to share at least some of my 18th with me so took me for dinner before I went clubbing. They made me eat so much that I could have drank the bar dry and still been sober! I never realised till that night just how boring the clubs were in the town I lived in then, until I spent an entire night in one completely sober total bummer, but not an 18th I'd forget really. What do/did you do on yours?

Unfortunately i did my fair share of drinking, But clubs, and bars always seemed so lonely and depressing to me. You see the same people all the time, and they never looked happy. Sadly i still know people that in there 50's still do the "clubbing" thing. I worked with a guy that truly believed women half his age were interested in him.
The one time i used an online dating site, I got ridiculed for it. But the people ridiculing me are the same 50-somethings that still go to bars to find women.

happy to join the club of middle aged men that have stopped bothering how old they are , and like you I have to do a mental assault course to answer when asked my age
we are never too old to rock and roll and we are certainly too young to die

Same here. With my mum, I remember her age at 48, but stopped counting after than (not that she minded). But I think she'd often forget her age, so the fact all of her colleagues thought she was still late 40's, when she was actually early 60's, she wasn't going to correct them. I do remember asking my brother one year how old our dad was. My brother lied to me thinking it funny, and told me dad was 50. (It was actually his 40th coming up then). So naturally, I got a card wishing him the big 50, (it was a big deal back then, not so much nowadays). I'm not sure who was more embarressed, me or him when he told me his real age, and my brother was on the stairs listening, crying with laughter that I'd believed him. He and I were the same height then, so I was able to kick his ass for playing jokes on me.
With me though, I know which decade I'm, in age-wise, its the digit that goes with it that I forget. Thankfully I'm rarely asked my age now, just my date of birth.

how considerate of the secret police lol
huh? did I miss something? what happened?

On 6 pages, and I was bored out of my brain with all of the repetitive stuff, trying to make sense of what the mod was muttering about and how the word theoretical managed to lose so many letters in posting. Nahh 👎 I got to the end of page 3 and couldn't take any more drivel. I'm in enough unwanted pain as it is without actually inflicting it on myself. I've seen mods being referred too as 'secret police', so can hazard a good guess what happened. LOL @Erik though, I love it when he gets like that!
Thanks for the link First 2 pages were worth it 👍 and I needed the laugh.
Oh and if I rarely post a typo, it means I'm using my phone. It has a female dog of a dictionary on it.
I only asked initially as I thought something had happened on this one.
Now I'm logging off so I can have a swear about the "not self inflicted" pain in my spine, otherwise I'll be tempted to post it on here, (lol that'd shock a few who have never, in 12 years, seen me post anything remotely close to swearing - and if the mod from the other thread talks to me, I won't be able to make head nor tail of what hes saying (again). )
Same year as my brother.. a month after his. His was March 13th 65', so we're rough'y 1.5 yrs apart.
Wow, in all the years we've known each other, for some reason always thought you were at least a good 20 - 25 years younger than me.
While its get up time for you its now 2.31am for me, and I'm not doing my damaged joints or spine any good by not resting them when they're hurting like ..ck (oops) crazy!!
Have fun
see ya'll tomorrow if my hands don't hurt too badly.
