can we have a moment of silence for the wildlife in the gulf of mexico...

to proceed: american "due process" is inhibiting justice. it was exasperating to watch tony hayward on his yacht this weekend with his cronies, instead of suited up with a bottle of dawn chasing pelicans. i have a hard time imagining that there is a punishment too cruel for this man. cool and unusual has a nice ring to it. children and animals seem to be what we refer to as defenseless, and it boils the blood to consider that these men will come out of this comfortably in the 1 percentile of wealth...kill,baby,kill!

You have a problem with due process?

Avatar of mike77

i dont equate it necessarily with justice, and justice is paramount.it supersedes due process(or it should).

If not for due process some rich guy would bribe someone to have you in jail by now.

Yo, Mikey, fugidabowdit. There's not enough money or justice to repair what's going to happen to the gulf. Maybe people will stop sending repubs to Washington so we can get some effective regulation of oil companies, Wall Street, the mining companies, etc., etc.

If not one Republican was elected to anything, the powers that be would just wiggle their way into control of the Democrats. It doesn't matter who you vote for, you always get fascism: it's built into the way our economy has power and control over people and resources at its core.

I try to ignore it and just play chess. Frown

Well spoken! I forget where the quote is from, and I'm summarizing badly but the gist is that our forefathers sought eliminate a permanent ruling class...

@mike77 The truth is that on multiple occasions, people run into a crossroads: Should one do the right thing or the easy thing? Most persons (human or non-human) on this planet tend to the latter more often than not. The ones who choose to do the right thing whenever possible are truly great. Therefore, let us not talk about these issues, but rather simply make the right choices in every situation. Good choices lead to good results, and EVERYONE wants good results. Hence, people will notice your results sooner or later. THAT is how you and I can make a difference as individuals.

Indeed!...and well spoken. In accordance with the things you said, I try to make decisions based on spiritual principles that have real value, on a daily basis.

@mike77 Just think of it as racking up small positional advantages one at a time instead of trying to win the game immediately. You know it works. :)
