Music stops when I open the app

can you please make it so I can listen to my music on my phone and play at the same time? app takes over and drives me crazy

When I listen to streaming music, sound stop. but downloaded music is OK.
5 years later, and the issue remains the same.. It can't be a technical issue that can't be resolved. Sounds unreasonable that you cannot play music/podcast etc. while playing chess. So dumb!
please fix!

Jeez... call that a bonus feature! Saves you the trouble of turning it off yourself, so you can play chess. 
Chess.com are you ignoring this problem? Can you at least let us know you tried something to resolve this issue? It’s quite frustrating to not be able to listen to my music while using your website.
+1 for being able to play music in iOS/IPadOS while using the Chess.com app.

If you are listening on a website in Safari and the music stops playing when you enter other apps or websites too, then that's supposed to happen. Apple only allows a few certain apps like YouTube to play videos or music while using a second app simultaneously. Safari is not one of those apps. However, if you are using Apple Music then that's a different problem because Apple Music is supposed to play in the background and I'm not sure how to fix that.

Seems like chess.com is ignoring this bug, but they should handle it, submit bug request to be sure they’re aware of it
+1 for chess.com to address, keeps stopping music when i open the app, but i found that if i view my previous apps and go to spotify start the music again then go back to the app it works until i look for a new match. then its just rinse and repeat

It’s the same issue with the challenges in the lessons. Even if I disable the sounds in the chess.com, music stops as soon as a new challenge starts. Very annoying.

Typical case:
- I’m listening to a podcast as I walk along.
- I get notification opponent moves in my daily game.
- I click on notification to look at opponent’s move
- Podcast stops so chesscom can make “kachunk” sound of pawn moving. Podcast remains off.
- Need to restart podcast.
Agreed: very annoying.

I have silenced the chess.com piece-moving noises. I find them unnecessary and irritating.
Same problem here! F…ing annoying!
+1 this honestly makes me want to switch to another chess app. Especially considering it’s been almost 10 YEARS and no response from the company
