Locking this one as well. Let's speak about this in private, shall we?

I double checked my settings, I accept messages from everyone :)

Kirkwood please check again: http://postimg.org/image/4cx2fdvpl/full/

It clearly shows that you have it set to "friends only".

Furthermore, I don't see what is unreasonable about my request to have my reply from the thread you just locked, transferred into my original thread that you also locked.

I am now also slightly suspicious that you have GM erichansen added as a friend. I'm hoping this is just a strange coincidence and not some kind of corruption.

You have to be open to messages as well.

How can someone like you, that constantly swears and posts insults not be banned yet? You have said that to me like 3 times already, you don't need to keep saying it. It is offensive and upsetting and fyi I have a life. I will not lower myself to your level and engage in petty insults, please stay off my thread.

I would not fault you, this is just poor design.  I can't see anywhere that this behaviour is documented.  There is no reason for the user to expect that since they have messages from non-friends blocked that they would be unable to message staff.

Check Kirkwood's friends list. Eric Hansen is one of his 59 friends. You must admit that it's a bit of a coincidence that one of his friends locks my thread, 10mins after his post.

Edit in: Thank you drinkingliketal for being one of the few impartial people that have posted.

So self absorbed you cannot realize the threads get locked because your crusade is shallow, stupid, unjust, hypocritical and so on. But that's ok. Thick skinned simpletons are like that.

You are making insinuations, misquoting people, not answering/ignoring  those who throw away their time trying to talk some sense into you with well written posts. Not even caring about the fact that the GM responded and said sorry. No, you still got to open your mouth and talk BS becuse you are "offended". Well, guess what, only idiots can get offended. It's a feeling made for arrogant self-righteous jerks. Just like you. I'm not gonna sugarcoat it with those of your race, too much politically correct junk fake plastic damned sh** already. Smile

I'm not sure that I'm understanding the point of you posting about this. Chessbrah runs his own stream, and viewers can either choose to watch his stream or to not watch his stream. It's as simple as that.

There is no "corruption" taking place. Even so much as implying that there is based off being friends with a person on an online website shows that you are desperately searching for any sort of feeble connection to prove yourself right about something pointless in which there is no right or wrong, but simply opinion.

Parents hopefully know what is or is not appropriate for their kids to be watching. If a parent is concerned about what their kid is viewing, they are more than welcome to block Chessbrah's Twitch page using parental controls. However, kids are exposed to many things that reflect the everyday life that is in store for them, with or without their parents' consent. The reality is that trying to protect children from any and all exposure to adult scenarios is a futile effort and their time would be much better spent preparing their children for what's to come instead of pretending like it doesn't exist.

Thank you for at least giving a fair view.

I would like to know if you think it's fair that someone can accuse you of lying in a thread, then for a moderator (that happens to be the accuser's friend) to close said thread 10mins later, giving the accused no chance to reply? If anyone can give me one reason how that's fair, I will admit I'm wrong on that particular issue.

Regarding your last paragraph that certainly is one way of looking at it. Another way is that we should all point out moral wrongs when we see it, moreover we should shine a very bright light on them, this in my view is part of being a good citizen. It is also part of my faith as a Christian, but I know that there will be those here that don't share this faith, or believe in other religions, so I won't divulge into this further. For me, I saw something that I deemed to be immoral in the form of cheating, and jokes that were offensive to a level beyond what I had assumed a reasonable person would expect, I felt a need to complain about them. You may insult me on a personal level for this like many have done, you may tell me to get a life like one poster above has done several times, I don't care, I will do what I thing is right. If I get punished for that so be it.

I think that Kirkwood closed the thread due to the original post having been addressed to what he deemed to be at a satisfactory level. He is staff for a reason and he is within his right to close threads. Beyond that, I don't know enough about the internal workings to comment further.

While you are also within your right to bring up that which you feel was cheating and inappropriate behaviour, it's important to accept other peoples' opinions on the subject as well. There is no objective answer to an inherently subjective viewpoint, and I think it's important for everyone here to acknowledge this and agree to disagree, as this is something that could be argued for an eternity with nothing concrete to show for it.

I personally enjoy watching a Chessbrah stream. However, I know it is not for everyone. It's important to keep in mind that viewers go on Twitch to enjoy the content that is being streamed, and if people stick around to watch then it's very likely that they are enjoying what they are seeing. Someone old enough to have an account on Twitch is, as is per Twitch's policy, old enough to decide whether or not the stream is appropriate for oneself.

The Chessbrah channel does have its positives, including providing many insights to chess positions in an informal and entertaining way, unique personalities that can help expand the chess community and upbeat and honest streamers that are simply being themselves. We do all say things in the moment that we regret later, which chessbrah did acknowledge. Anything beyond that is simply him being himself, which is exactly what you are doing.

I haven't seen that stream myself, but from what I can see in here it's most definitly you, Osehris, that's way out of line here.
