This seems to be not only a mistake for germany :-)
I often paid with paypal round the world and mostly it had been successfull.
Maybe it is a global mistake?
My paypal account is not verfied so then I click to pay wiht paypal. I Login in and than show a messegae that need to add a card (That I didn't have yet) . So I found this alternative ''Additionally, you may send a payment to the order@chess.com address via PayPal and then contact Chess.com Support to let us know your payment has been sent. We will add your premium membership to your Chess.com account.''

I'm from Spain and I can't pay with paypal, in chesstempo I paid without any problem, so maybe is Chess.com's fault, no paypal's fault.

so, why don't you contact paypal, try to find out why it doesn't work and fix the issues. I mean this problem exists for years now. Paypal germany works with every other shop/site, only chess.com is a problem. I would want a recurring monthly membership - that would be annoying with manual payment. well, I tried it every few months for years now, but nobody seems to want my money here.
Would be interesting to know, how many german members don't go premium because of the paypal problems.
Same here. Tried to purchase membership via Paypal from Germany, but it it simply doesn't work. Hopefully, my ticket to CS will be answered so we might arrange a manual solution as erik promised.

Hi there. If you are having purchasing a premium membership through Paypal from Germany then what you can do is simply send your payment directly to order@chess.com Paypal address including a note with your username and what you are purchasing. Thank you for your support of Chess.com! :)

I submitted the payment manually to order@chess.com through PayPal just about midnight and got my membership upgrade this morning ca. 8am. That's quite a good response time, especially on a weekend!

du benötigst für Paypal keine Kredikarte, sondern kannst auch ein normales Girokonto mit Paypal verknüpfen, von dem das Geld dann per Lastschrift abgebucht wird. Hierzu muss das Bankkonto bestätigt werden, damit PayPal weiß, dass es auch deins ist.
Nach der Bestätigung deines Girokontos kannst du bei PayPal im Menü auf
Geld senden > Waren oder Dienstleistungen bezahlen…
gehen und gibst als E-Mail-Adresse order@chess.com an. Als Währung wählst du am besten gleich USD, damit es keine Problem bei der Konversion gibt.
Das muss von chess.com dann natürlich manuell bearbeitet werden; die Mitgliedschaft ist deswegen nicht gleich auf Klick da. Aber es funktioniert, und bei mir zB. auch sehr schnell, wieschon geschrieben.

Danke für deine Mühe mit der genauen Auflistung was ich machen muss und sogar mit rausgesuchten Link.
Meinen PP Account habe ich schon seit Jahren und immer mit Lastschrift bezahlt und zurzeit mehr als genug Guthaben.
Trotzdem "bekam" ich immer die Meldung ich soll eine KK hinzufügen.
Nach deinem Post hatte ich es nochmals versucht, eigentlich nur so aber es klappte auf einmal.
Jetzt warte ich nur noch darauf das sie mein Geld bearbeiten und meinen Account aufstocken.

Well I don't know what your saying becuase your speaking in german. However, yeah I tryed using pay pal before. It requires a credit card for validation. If I wanted to use a credit card online. I would just use it on chess.com directly. Using other payment options is exactly that. I'm not going to another website to use a credit card lol.
I believe chess.com will eventually upgrade there payment services to include:
All of which are just pay to use cards that don't require nothing but cash. Chess.com will get there eventually. They will have to for business survival.
What I find rather funny is this site is a Family site or is suppose to be most kids who play games do not have credit cards. An you can be rest assured most of there parents are not going to let there child use a credit card online. Further more your other 2 payment options checks and money orders lol. How many kids do you know who walk around with check books lol.
Your website is not Kid Friendly.
An its borderline not Adult Friendly either.
I'm surpised your still in business.
However, I am very patient. I play chess after all. Filled with patience. Maybe these payment upgrades will happen in V3.
