Photo & Alert mail

Perhaps I've missed something.......I posted a photo (100x100 pixel .jpg) which shows on my home page but does not show in public profile. Why is that? Also, yesterday my opponent moved while I was not logged in yet I did not receive an alert email. Note: I have double checked to make sure the alert is turned on, set to "default email", Outlook is not configured to reject as SPAM (althought it would end up in the junk folder which it did not), and I receive alerts from other sites with no problem.

I read old posts here about this issue and noted that if my opponent moves within 10 minutes of my logging out, no alert is sent. Is that correct?

Thanks for any assistance.

Im not sure I entirely know what you are referring to with the photo. I see your avatar, it looks like a person in a grey coat with a dark hat on. Is that what you are talking about?

As for the e-mails, there is a delay between the time you log out and when the system realizes you are no longer there. If it becomes your turn within that time, the system will not send an e-mail out. But it should send one for the next game in which it becomes your turn.

Thanks for the reply BBF. Yes, I am referring to the avatar. Should it not appear on my public profile?

Question: if I did not log out but merely closed the page, would the system think I was still there? If so, how long before it counts me as lone?

Thnaks again.

Your avatar does appear in your profile, I can see it. If you are not, maybe try pressing Ctrl + R on that screen to do a hard refresh?

Im sorry, I guess what I was referring to was exaclty what you described, when you just go to another page, the system won't know you've done that for a few minutes. As I understand it, there is no set time for the system to see that you're gone, it varies.
