Rating percentile incorrect

Hey guys,

My percentile for my rating seems to be wrong, and I can't figure out why. Here's my stats:

Bullet: 1641

Percentile: 88%

Rank: #16,844 out of 687,236

Percentage according to rank: 97.5490225%

And the same situation for my blitz rating:

Blitz: 1662

Percentile: 91.5%

Rank: #108,606 out of 2,199,362

Percentage according to rank: 95.0619316%

Any ideas why? My previous percentages were actually around 95% in general for all of my various ratings, and suddenly they drop down. What really bothers me is that the percentile isn't matching the "rank."

Percentile is based on where your rating falls on the rating distribution graph. Here is a recent discussion on it.

So should ranking, as people in that thread pointed out.

I think ranking is probably mostly correct, though I have no idea if it covers only members with recent games in the time control. I just looked at the top few players in Daily and their rank in stats match their place on the leader board. Did a spot check on a few others and they matched too.

edit: though, looking through the rating list they aren't always in rating order so I'm not sure why that might be.

Players can share a percentile band but won't share a ranking.
