Resetting an 'out of time game'

Hi Support

Is there anyway to reset a Daily Chess game that has run out of time? I have lost on time when about to check mate and my opponent admits it would be fairer if he could restart the game for me to claim my points!

thanks

David

No. There are no takebacks either.

All you can do is play another game.

I would like young David to win this game and get the points he naturally deserves.....bless him. How do we do this?

notmtwain

I am really surprised that chess.com would consider doing this.  Young David has to learn that the time control is a serious matter and that a loss by time is the same as a loss by checkmate.  That's a lot more important than a few ratings points.

What's next? Allowing takebacks?

You should've turn off automatic claim of winning on time...

I was of course being diligent on time and was actually one move from check mate, so desperate for my move, but our 21st century mobile networks prevented the app from updating itself, so in this case it seems fair if the opponent agrees to it, as you can see he does (sirtommymac in this thread). chess.com have agreed to resume the game.

as an additional function on the app I'm suggesting the winner has the power to resume the game if he feels he won unfairly due to such first world technical failures !

you could have done conditional moves
