Spam from Live Game Complaints Enforcement

Hello Chess.com! Thanks for all you do!

I am curious how much action is taken against players who are reported for spam during live games. I appreciate the ability to mute chat during live games, report on sportsmanship, and report for things like spam.

Is there a report on enforcement actions taken by chess.com? I am asking as a paying customer who is considering whether to renew his subscription. High quality enforcement and moderation is what would keep me here.

Whenever you report someone here https://support.chess.com/article/209-how-do-i-report-someone or here https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/how-to-contact-support-1 then chess.com support sees the report and addresses it. Whatever actions are taken is private between that member and chess.com though (so there is no public record of these reports to actions taken, but they are looked into).

Reporting helps chess.com keep this community friendly because chess.com has literally millions of members. Our staff and moderators could increase 100-fold and still be outnumbered, but we are an amazing team and the chess community (members like you) are a part of this team as well happy.png

Thanks for moderating @Vocaloid39! To clarify, I was asking if chess.com publishes a report that summarizes all of their moderating and enforcement actions. So, something that says 500 accounts were warned for spam, 20 were banned, and not something that says "that guy you played last week was warned."

Take it or leave it - no sweat. It's just a little customer feedback.

It's part of the monthly updates:

https://www.chess.com/article/view/chesscom-update-august-2024#FairPlay

From that:

  • 39,800+ mute actions
  • 35,000+ accounts muted
  • 131,900+ abuse closures

That's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you, @Martin_Stahl.
