"Sure you want to leave the page"?

Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing that would allow me to close the tab for the analysis page without chess.com interrupting me and asking me if I'm sure I want to "leave the page"?

It's annoying to get a message like that especially when in order to close the tab you really have to go out of your way and find the X button on the browser tab, even if you do close it by accident you can always just re-analyze the game.

I must be missing this setting somewhere because I can leave all other pages, even when I'm playing, on this site.

I don't get the same pop-up. I tried both closing and returning, and there was nothing. It must be on the paid version of the analysis page. And I don't think there's a setting for such a thing.

If it really annoys you that much, there are browser add-on's and user-scripts you can play around with to disable the message in your browser.

Thanks WSama, I will look for those browser add-ons.

I mostly use Firefox so maybe they have something.

If you make any changes, like trying a different line, it will prompt you to make sure you don't want to save the changes

That makes a lot of sense. I just wish it would do the same for forum posts. I've lost some of my efforts in the past after an accidental click here and there, and had to start all over again.

I was having trouble with my Mobil app. It wouldn’t change my rating after a win or a loss.
I closed the app and reloaded again but it treated me as a new customer so I had to use another email and user name. Now I lost my diamond premium status as if I’m a new customer. Isn’t there someone who can help me? Been a customer for many years already.

You should still be able to log on to your original account. If you are having issues, you could contact support. Or you could ask support to move your membership.

Ok, I get it.

Very annoying though.

I guess the idea is that I accidentally close a tab -  which I think is exceedingly uncommon in the world of computing in general - then Chess. com is there ready to take care of me.

Have you found a solution to this? It's extremely annoying.

It is annoying. They should really reconsider what counts as a "change". For example, after finishing a depth 30 analysis, I can leave the page without confirmation, though it is really the only situation where I actually would want that. On the other hand, simply going back one move is considered a "change", so you have to confirm leaving after that. This way it doesn't make sense to me.

BlunderHappy

Still no change. Very annoying. As if I'm going to accidentally hit that small X on the tab.

Running into the same issue every time I want more clarification on puzzles. I'll work out problems in analyses which prompts more and more windows to open which each need a secondary confirmation to close. Annoying.
