what is the best way to learn what to use and how to checkmate someone in chess? im a newbie and need help bad... thank you..

by attacking  the oppenets king with pieces

Generally it's hard to deliberately set up a mate especially early on (unless your opponent badly slips up), I just chip away at the pieces until there's only a few left, then it becomes easier to mate.
