Waiting for next game of tournament and I left somehow

I entered my first tournament tonight.  Won my first game and was looking forward to the second one.  I thought, "I'll check out the tabs within the tournament." Standing, Chat, and Games.  And then I heard a "blip" and was out of the tournament.  I didn't click out of it.  I'm assuming I automatically lose my next four games based on other issues I've read here.  So I'd like to know if you can rejoin and why this happened.  I'm quite perplexed.

I just had the same problem!
Waiting for round #4 in a rating limited Swiss and got a notice that I’ve lost since I didn’t show up! Would prefer to even get a chance to play, but the game didn’t launch at all.
Weird since I saw that 3 games was still going in round #3 - while waiting.

Tournaments require a minimum number of players to start. I believe it's 4 for a Swiss and 5 for an Arena

@Martin_Stahl: I hope, you have seen the link properly, there was 8 players. All games round were proper, only one round was not happened, because they just played previous game and it was finished at last. They all were online/connected, no internet issue.

Ah, I misunderstood.

When a round is paired if the pairing algorithm does not see a player in the interface, it will not pair the player. So if they had the tournament in a background tab, had closed the window, or were disconnected, they would not be paired.

@Martin_Stahl: There were 8 players, 4 games simultaneously started. Those two person was playing head-to-head and finished together at round 2 at last, it means they were connected not swithed even. Still they had not get next round game, there was some issue while randomizing player. They both had played together in Round 2, therefore round 3 wasn't started for them.
