What may not be obvious is that derailing the thread because some posters took it off topic doesn't do justice that the thread had an on topoc basis and much discussion on topic that was misfiled as off topic. So to do right thing in the spirit of pettiness the mods committed wrongs and abused their authority. To subjectively apply their religion and say they don't respect the concept of psychic masterS and to censor an on topic post for that reason is just religious persecution. The mod was wrong. no way around it

Don't try to get laughs dude. A great wrong has been done here! We can banter and say it is no big deal in the scheme of things, trivialize it, you can mock me, deride the thread, but what we can't do is say that the moderators really did the right or fair thing, in principle, all things considered. It was really just a subjective call and an abuse of power.
The thread had a large on-topic component and the fact that it veered was not an excuse to kill the thread. Lack of activity would have made it die a natural death in its own due time. There was no clean reasonable fair way to do that thread in.
And, as you, perhaps better than anyone here knows, I have no sense of humor at all. Zero. None. Zilich. Nada. Negatory. Finito. So I am incapable of seeing the humor in any of this and have zero objectivity.. Hell to the no! I understand the strengths and weaknesses of the arguments for and against. I'm just saying the moderator wronged me and the community because of his religious bias and not out of any accurate sense or application of justice.

It really isn't that big a deal to have it moved to off topic. It is still active and anyone who is interested can still follow it. It still shows up in the Hot Topics list.
Religious discussion isn't allowed in the forums, so if that is the basis of your claim you'd better scrap it.

It isn't. My post was not religious. It is being persecuted by people with a flawed form of skepticism that turns the skepticism away from objectivity and into a religion of subjectivity and bias in and of itself. So banning the thread with that skepticism is religious persecution, because it is being persecuted by religion, as religion, when it is not religion, and has a scientifically defensible basis. Governments and militaries have put a lot of money and research into paranormal phenomena, and there is evidence to support that psychic phenomena and telepathy exist. It was a perfectly valid topic for the General Chess Discussion forum, as per its charter. Removing it because it moved at least temporarily to the subject of UFOs and to kill the valid part of the thread because of it, was just bad moderating.
On the plus side, we did get to see that kitten pic (rest assured that no cats or other pets were harmed during the posting of these photos).
