Please do not intentially abort or disconnect from games

Very well, from now on I shall only do so unintentionally.

It stops after awhile I think... the message thing.  If you have a intermittent internet connection there's not a lot the site can do I think.  Although if you come back right away it seems odd that it's recorded as an immediate loss.

I think one problem the site faces with that is some cheaters can apparently use rapid disconnect + reconnect tactics to mess with the time or something.  I really know nothing about how that's supposed to work on the technical side, so don't ask me for details :p  Just that it was supposedly happening in the past.

The down side to the fix apparently being that legitimate players with poor internet connections face additional troubles.

It's not just the message, it won't even let me play games. The server immediately aborts them.

Hmm, maybe post it in help and support forum?  I don't know.

Did you read my post, or just the title? Again if you aren't going to say anything on topic please don't post in this thread.

It was very much on topic!  And don't be a big blubberin' baby.

I'm sure it wasn't intentional.

This seems rather strange.

Really? Why are people responding to the title without reading the post? Who does that?

Apparently, no one at all (I can tell that's the right answer by your tone).

To not disconnect intentionally or to disconnect unintentionally that is the question, whether it is better to ... ... ... Oh heck I don't even understand the darn question. Yell

Avatar of cabadenwurt

Oh that was sneaky, very sneaky ( into the premium thread ). Laughing

Well personally, I think he has the right to be annoyed that this has happened. Perhaps you should create a help and support forum, and provide links to the games in which you were disconnected. If you were in fact winning the games, it should be clear enough that you wouldn't 'ragequit', as they say, and disconnect in spite of your opponent.

Besides that, there's not really any advice I can give.

Chess.com should have pooled play like ICC. Pooled games if you quit then you lose automacally.

I agree with cferrel.

Whoa wait.  Andy Clifton is like a chess "National Master" in the United States and I'm well on my way to becoming an NM in the Dominican Republic -- In fact, I'm on the "short list" of the DRCF to be awarded such a title in 2013.

How dare you call a titled player and a soon-to-be titled player "trolls."

I would hardly say that your chess.com ratings are NM level, no offence.

Avatar of prazzzwal

hope chess.com can find any solution for this problem....

A troll seconding another troll. You guys were just being smartasses at his expense. While it was a little bit funny, I couldn't help but feel what you guys were doing is something that should be dealt with by a forum mod. You're clearly trying to get under his skin, and you're enjoying that fact that it's working.

I take issue with that.  Don't speak for me, dude.  I'm not at all enjoying it when yet another person acts uptight and humorless around here.  I wasn't "trying to get under his skin," but trying to get him to lighten up a bit and get off the witness stand or soapbox or whatever it is he's making his deposition from.

Okay I'll admit, I've always had kind of a crush on cookiemonster.  I like that shade of blue...and I think we're the same species (are we?).

Sure enough.  Answered at length, even.
