Need more time controls in the Play Online menu

The time-control options in the Play Online menu are too few / too limited. For instance, I prefer 30-minute or 60-minute games, but with an increment of 10 seconds or so. But when I create a custom game with those controls, I get no takers. And I know those aren't the most popular time controls, but I also know I'm not the only one of chess.com's millions of players who like them. But it's too difficult for us to find each other, because it's not one of the one-click time-control options on that menu. Why not have more options on that menu? Currently, I have the option of either 15|10, or 30 minutes | no increment. I guess maybe this is a feature request, so I may cross-post.

Are you really sure this is a good place for the achievement. Do it on an achivement related question at least

I agree. I don’t play live often, but I usually just play 30min.
It would be really nice to have some increment, so winning endgames are easier to just win. Especially considering I can’t do several premoves at once.

Personally think that these time controls would be nice, as they're very common OTB:

- 30 + 5

- 7 + 3

- 5 + 3

- 90 + 30

- 25 + 10

- 120

An option to have a second control would be nice, as well-so there can be time controls like 120/40, sd 30+30 or 90+30/40, sd 30+30

Just set up a custom time control.

You can’t just add 20 different time controls. The main-time-controls are main-time-controls for a reason.

(a) Yes, you can. (b) No one in this thread has asked for 20.

Is it because they're the most popular? Gee, I wonder why they're the most popular?

I addressed that in the original post.

I like a lot of those (especially 30|5 and 25|10). I didn't even think about the two-phase time controls, but yeah, why not have a few? It's not like there's not enough space on an online menu for a few more buttons.

What was the purpose of this thread then?

Should they add a 60m + 0.1s time control in your opinion? Why? / Why not?

Avatar of audsquad

No, because no one's asking for it.

But 60m + 10s SHOULD be added? Why?

Because no preconfigured Rapid time controls on chess.com past 15 minutes include an increment, though these are common elsewhere. It's a simple ask. I realize that the addition of a couple more buttons on the "more time controls" menu would negatively affect a life that is apparently so rich that there is nothing better to do than troll forums with questions such as "why not a .1-second increment," but maybe you could find a way to handle it. For instance, you could avoid clicking on the "more time controls" button to start with, and that way your eyes would never be burned by the sight of these additional, requested, offensive buttons. And maybe with the time this would save you, you could enter therapy and address your fear of change or maybe build a social life that would prevent the urge for internet trolling. The possibilities are endless.
