Not all titled players appear as titled
I want to become an FM if I ever grow up.
A valuable intermediate goal is FIDE CM (2200 rating). A realistic appraisal of my current playing strength, bearing in mind that it's been quite long since I played any kind of classical time-control competitive games, would probably put my rating in the 2050 to 2100 range - but I do want to improve!

I'm 70 and want too be another Carlsen ---everyone on chess.com has chess dreams.
Eddysallin If you want to improve your playing strength by 100-200 rating points, that's real and can be done through study, training and application. Then you can set another goal.
At your rating range, even a rapid 300 to 400 points increase isn't out of the question, once certain basics are mastered. Age isn't really an issue as long as your approach to yourself is constructive, rather then acerbic (it is a pretty accurate fact that people treat themselves exactly the same way they treat others).
LauriAikio I see that you've investigated :-) did you notice the 2120 performance in these games? I got lucky against one, and could use a bit of luck against another one...
I would like to play a lot of FIDE rated games! It will happen :-) just a question of time.
All titled players must appear as titled players! It's a chess.com law.
Arent you a titled player too Andy?
Or hersheys with almonds
more crazy nonsense! what is that supposed to mean? does anyone ever understand you?
Dude are you okay?
The last player I beat here (always rated 2100+ in blitz) in 3 0 play is a well known Israeli FIDE master - but doesn't have the initials FM before his name.
The game was interesting. He got absolutely no advantage as white. Then I got there before him in development - my rooks were occupying the central files while his still sat at their corners (I count f1 as a corner after castling..)
I created chances, entering his 2nd rank with both rooks, which he countered effectively, a-la Carlsen - except for allowing me a nagging passed h-pawn, which after some exchanges, he sacrificed his bishop for.
All of this play inside his position and on the K-side, made me neglect my Q-side, where he won my pawns and had his own passers running.
"Please", I thought, "move your pawn to a6, so I can give you a counter-sac of my knight for your a and b pawns..." - which he did.
In these endings with these fast-running pawns, a minor piece is worth less than two of these tiny rushing ant-monsters...
The result was an rook ending where I hoped to exchange the remaining pawn each of us had on the k-side, and managed to, and then his last pawn wouldn't win by itself as I rushed my king to take care of its queening square, and as it was already on the 6th rank, there was no way for him to shelter his K from checks from behind.
Of course this was totally drawn, and the FM, with some 2.7 seconds to my 5 point something, tried to get me to repeat moves. I viciously repeated exactly twice and then deviated... just to flag him and gain 10 rating points, and yet another FM skull :-)
