Yeah it wasn't that funny, the only part I found funny was that he kept on offering draws

It's especially funny when they cuss out at you a bunch. Once, I played this guy (I think it was 5|0 or 5|3 blitz) and he kept telling me I sucked and calling me an idiot, which intensified when I hung my queen. I had some compensation for it though, and I didn't want to resign and give in to him so I kept playing, and soon he hung his queen, in an even more embarrassing manner that I did. I had been silent up until then, but I couldn't resist saying, "who's the idiot now?" which of course was met by a barrage of swearing. Another guy I played I kept beating him over and over, but he kept saying I sucked and I was just getting lucky. That was really funny.
I wish they archived live game chats as well as online game chats. I have some funny ones under my belt, but they were when posting game chats wasn't popular so I didn't give them a second thought; about like people from the fifties didn't take care of their cars to sell them today, no that they're so popular (fortunately I don't care, I like late 60's and 2010's).
Very funny, I just had a guy rematch me and resgin in all 4 of the games we played. Kind of weird and funny btw this guy cussed me out I just removed the posts XD

This is so messed up. You recommend him to play 9.e5 d5?? which loses a piece, when after 9...dxe5 10.Rxe5 Qc7! he is clearly better. Sick, sad world.

It is sad that youngsters behave so poorly. I suppose that adult supervision is even more difficult on the web than elsewhere. Although I have knocked about the web since its inception and not had to put up with stuff like this.
I play correspondence chess almost exclusively here and have not encountered such behaviour, perhaps it is confined to blitz and bullet.
Anyway props to you, chesswiz, for your wit and tolerance.
If I owned this (excellent) site I think I would be particularly sad to see it so abused.

Your agitation is understandable, but, as you already observed, it is impossible to police everyone. The internet is just too big. People often behave differently on the internet than they do in real life because of the anonymity aspect. I suppose you could say that once you remove the risk of accountability, people choose to act however they see fit. Some of us continue to behave civilized because we hold ourselves to a higher moral standard, but others do not have these ideals. As long as there are no consequences, this will be a perpetual part of the internet, regardless of where you go. That is just the sad truth.

My generation is going down the tubes, unfortunately, even though I do subscribe to that "higher moral standard" you mention. That type of chatting makes me hang my head in shame for me and my upcoming generation.
