generally when someone refuses to move I just shove them out of the way. then again I am a wrestler so I can do that and pretty much nobody dares do anything about it.
What do you do when someone refuses to move?
Try to write in the forums and never blame your opponent because no one would like to lose and by staring foolishly on the board can results in a miracle move sometimes. Just try it whenever you are convinced that you are going to lose.
I actually like that. It gives me a chance to relax and know that I've just won a game. I can get some other stuff done and give my eyes a rest.

There is one game i play right now. Its 7 days per move, and we have played first 25 or so moves in maybe hour or two and now he saw he is about to lose
and now he waits 7 days for every move to make. I really dont understand this. I 've seen in his profile that he does this to everybody. He waits until the few last hours and then he plays the move. I know its perfectly legal but its really annoying.

I_Win_Some, that's amazing. You've played 246 games and found 124 people to block--does that mean over 50% of your opponents make your blocked list? In contrast, I've played 116 games and only two of my opponents demonstrated blockable behavior.

Slightly off-topic possibly, but ...
There was talk on the radio this morning about drug-mules - people who smuggle drugs by swallowing them. When these carriers are detected by Customs agents, they are put in a room and Customs wait for them to produce the evidence. Apparently, the longest they have had to wait is three weeks, which puts the 14-day wait-for-movement into perspective.

I recently played a game with a 13 days timer. We were playing at a reasonable rate and then the game came to a critical point and I took 6 or 7 days to reply. The position was really interesting and I wanted to thoroughly analyse it. I know now I took too long and possibly unintentially annoyed my opponent. I try to move quicker these days, but I'm losing more games as a result.

You are also a Harry Potter nerd.

why play a game with a 13 day move timer then? if you take <13 days its a legal move with the agreed rules, no one is insulting anyone. live chess is a little bit different because its time per game. However, if they actually think they are somehow hurting you by making you wait a few minutes just read a chapter of a book or clean part of your house, better yet start a new chess game :)
The ultimate tactic of a loser/poor sport. Their mommy isn't around to give them their bah bah and so they throw a childish tantrum. That's all it equates to: a child's tantrum. Screw proper ettiquette. People like this should not play chess. Not because they are only mediocre at chess in the first place and can not come to terms with that, but because they don't even have the class or sportsmanship or sense of fun to make up for being a mediocre player. They are an all around tumor on the sport. If you are reading this and are such a type of person, get on medication.
PS- great comment Richie And Opera. Spot on.

Psychology of time is also a factor in chess. Your losing opponent may want u to get irritated because he is taking forever to make his/her moves, and in your built up annoyance u might just make a mistake or blunder! One of my opponents is using this tactics but its all good, cos i aint losing my cool!

Just minimize the game and start a new one with someone else. Occasionaly check the old game to see whether he moved or not and eventualy he will run out of time. (Make sure to have the "Play multiple games" setting on)

You didn't take too long--the time control was 13 days/move. If you legitimately need 6-7 days to calculate the position, then by all means take it.
Of course, if you're taking 13 days/move in K+Q vs K, that's different!

If im loosing i want the game over,i dont like a poor position hanging over me. its bad sport to ignore a move, be honest, if your loosing, how many options do you have to think about? no more than 5 or 6 normaly. ive had several great games with very sporting fine players on this site, i make a note of these players so i can revisit them for a game,i have encountered the above problem with some and will not be playing them again. And as i beat all these unsporting players (they slowed down to max time as you get on top) they will take a 1-0 defeat to the grave with them. these fools miss out on the 'best of 5' matches that develop from when you meet a fair, sporting player.

ITS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF OWNERS OF CHESS.COM TO FIND OUT WAYS TO BLOCK SUCH PERSONS WHO STOP MAKING MOVE FOR LONG TIME. OR ELSE THERE ARE OTHER OPEN SOURCE ONLINE CHESS GAMES SITES ALSO WHO HAVE THE FACILITY OF REPORTING SUCH PERSONS. I M NOT A PROMOTER OF ANY SITE SO I M NOT SHARING ANY NAME
If they won't move, Just wait, they are loser's which ever way they choose to play the game.
