Correct me if i'm wrong, but on the second move black does not have to take the knight.

yeah that's not a must - but that happened in the game i played

i think it is still interesting, to mate with a pawn, and white makes it possible, with his pawn move

not a forced mate, indeed, but it's always a great pleasure to give mate by a pawn:) nice puzzle.
