I think Kxe1 allows forced mate next move, since the rook can block a spite check by moving to d2 and simultaneously mating by discovery.

just like what was you analyze, but if the rook block a spite check from bishop by going to d2, then check from white bishop can also be blocked too, by moving the bishop to b2

here is what I mean

it will be three moves then..

Ra2, Qa4 ?

What is the black king doing all the way over there anyway? Just curious.Smile

1. Ra2+ Bb2

? I'm trying to wrap my head around that. When Ra2, doesn't black Kb4 become the only option, followed by white Qa4? I'm confused I guess.

Sorry, I'm newish. I meant Rb1+ Qd1

1. Rb1+ Kd2   2.Qd1+ Kc3. still doesn't mate

Correct me if I'm wrong but black king cannot move to b2. It appears to me that it can only move to d4. (How did you create the expample above in the 5th post?) Though I see now that my solution would not work for mate in 2 as the king can still end up @ c3.

I think I've got it! Rc2+, Nf2# ???

Spotlion

Qb4 and I don't think Black has a defense to mate.

Edit: No wait, Bc3...

Spotlion

Whoa, that is the craziest thing I have ever seen.

It is better to give the credits to the composer...

It's better if you let people who aren't using engines work it out first.
