0.3334 is closer to 1/3.

0.333...never runs into 1/3

So what is?

Avatar of One_Zeroth

0.333 doesn't hit it, and 0.334 Misses it.

The correct answer is something in between 0.333... and 0.334

I feel like I'm arguing with a third grader who finds random stuff on the internet

0.333 doesn't hit, but 0.3333333333333333333333333333333....(forever) does, and if I'm wrong then I need to relearn division, coz that is what I learnt in Primary.

Third Graders have more common sense, and can be taught things.

Losing your temper with all those 3's?

It approximates, but does not conclude.

how come? are you saying that somewhere in the pool of 3s there is gonna be a different number. I'd like to see you link up some sources please.

Right!

And 3/3-0.1 is not 3/3 as is not 3/3-0.01

Nope.

I'm pointing out, 0.333 does not conclude to 1/3

#41 but does 0.3333333333333333333 do? I think is should

The 3's can go on for eternity, and technically reach it but not exactly so.

Avatar of One_Zeroth

You cannot count it

0.9999 to infinity

adding the character 1 afterwards makes it a non multiple if 9. ie

0.999+10^-3 changes it.

If 0.9999999999999999=1 then 9.9999999999999999=10 then 9=9 because 0.999999999*9=0.999999*10-0.99999999999999=9.9999999999999999-0.9999999999999999=9
