So, Im really exited... my workers comp claim is finally going my way. I have now been aproved for retraining. WOOT! And they just changed the laws so they will pay for 2 yrs of college! So now the delema.... what to do? What field should I get into? What jobs do you guys do and do LOVE your job? Remember I can not do physical labor so Im pretty much stuck to a desk or similar. Man I can't wait to get back to work!

OK here is my back ground...  I have been an electrician for the past 8 years and before that was a snot nosed kid with crapy jobs. I can go for any 2 year degree I want... hmmm.

Professional chess player? ... Just kidding, I hope you find a degree you like.  Unfortunately, I'm not old enough to give you credible advice, but the computer industry is booming.  Perhaps a degree in that area would be good?

I agree with GotGoose,

Computers and the Internet are here to stay.  Talk with webmasters; talk with Erik, he might have some great ideas on where to start.

Check out a community college or a university close to your home and find out what type of careers are available and what interests you.  The career counselors should be able to give you good guidance.

Graphic designers are good paying positions, however I don't know if that requires more than a 2 yr degree.  It mainly depends on your interests.  It also depends on if you are willing to relocate if the field you choose has companies in other parts of the country.   If you like working with numbers, Accountants are also in demand, especially tax accountants/preparers.  Management or Business fields are also a good career fields.  Now that you have options explore them to the fullest!  Good luck and God Bless.
