Heat wave here. We had rolling blackouts on Monday and hit 34 C.
A tad chilly
34 C = 93 deg american, folks.
and we haven't hit 90 yet, though we're definitely into summer with low and mid 80s.
Golf ball sized hail tonight. Too dark to properly survey the damage, but my siding and vehicle both appear to be damaged and I suspect I just lost this year's apple harvest.

Bummer!
Initial damage survey:
- Multiple holes in vinyl siding
- Roof - unknown (I can only hope the insurance adjuster deems that I need a new one as it was coming due...)
- Multiple large dents in vehicle
- 8" ring of concentric cracks in the middle of my windsheild
- Apple crop - Still TBD, but I'm not optimistic
- Insurance company has me on perpetual hold. (Anyone want to take up a collection to build me a new house while I wait?)
I have a tempered glass patio table that appears intact. I'm shocked, I thought it would be destroyed.

Tempered glass is pretty tough. Be glad a tornado didn't hit. You should have seen some of the cars in the softball shower. Demolished. All I suffered was a knocked out computer, since the softballs only came to within a mile of me. Chesskababs might help with the donations. :)
Well my windshield is tempered safety glass and it wasn't immune. I saw the stone that broke my windshield strike -- it was definitely one of the golf ball sized ones. Lots of comparing of notes re: damage in the office this morning.
Strike that -- I just realized my windsheild isn't tempered or I wouldn't be able to see out of it as soon as the first rock-chip occurred. It's just laminated.
Is hail very common in your area? It is normally nearly non-existant here, but this spring we had numerous hail storms.
Relatively common, usually one really good hailstorm like this a year, although this one was exceptionally large hail, and quite a bit more prolonged than usual (30-40 minutes).
:
More thunder and lightening tonight than I've had in all the previous (nearly) 10 years I've lived here combined. The internet keeps going down.
