A tad chilly

ahhh and is getting warm here already...I am having a beer.

An unusually cool and stormy summer here as well. The hail's all but destroyed this year's apple crop.
goldendog

Nice. I'm looking forward to one or two myself!

TheGrobe
Oh, and I'm also having a beer. Something from Beertopia in fact.
goldendog

I'm hoping for a couple big bottles of Summer Grifter. Hoppy, bitter, and well constructed. 6%, so two would be plenty.

kco

I am trying this one out.

TheGrobe

Because it's been cold out:

Goldendog, if you can get your hands on one of these I highly recommend it:

One of my absolute favourites that can be found down your way.

I've seen Summer Grifter around when I've been stateside, but I've never picked it up.  I may have to try it next time.

Wheatopia? Surprised Frankly, that looks like something Gerard Depardieu might produce on a plane to Dublin...

Tee hee! Laughing

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!

This isn't directly about weather, but it's certainly season-related.  Every year in late summer I get an explosion of fruit flies in my house.  They invaded 2 days ago.  I just set out some basalmic vinegar traps a few minutes ago.  The annual war has begun.

This reminded me of the mosquitos I contended with in Montana.

  Hmm?

Cystem_Phailure

That reminds me of the old mosquito tale, probably claimed as local everywhere there are mosquito problems (and the UP certainly has its share of mosquitoes).  A camper who has been harassed by two mosquitoes all afternoon has finally managed to flee to the safety of his cabin.  He quickly barricades the door, but it's not enough-- the mosquitoes need only a minute or two to smash through the door and furniture behind it, and before he knows it, the fellow is pinned to the floor with one of the mosquitoes sitting on his chest.  The chest-sitting moquito turns to his comrade and says "Should we eat him here or take him home?"  The second mosquito says "We better eat him here.  If we go back outside the big ones might take him from us."

1:00 a.m. and it just hit 39.9 F at my location.  That's the first dip below 40 F for this fall season.

Kind a gets you all tingly with excitement for the coming winter, doesn't it?  :)

Cystem_Phailure

You know, in spite of my recording a record low T at my house last year (-34.6 F), the last 2 winters here have had extremely low amounts of snow compared to the 100-year average-- both winters were below 100 inches total.  I wouldn't mind getting back to a snowier normal winter for a change.

For now, though, cool weather means its time for nice local apples!
