A Thread About Nothing
cool story, ron. i thought there were more than three in the band. maybe they got rid of their pete best under the radar...
speaking of band names, here's what i read about how pink floyd decided on their name.
they originally called themselves 'tea set'. ok, fine. except, one of their first gigs had another with the same name! supposedly, syd barrett decided they must change the name, so, they "settled" on two first names of their favorite blues artists.
i also think it's fascinating that wish you were here was about syd.
another band name story, both which i'm sure i've already mentioned. but, when you have a ten year old topic, these things happen (just look at the songs posted).
when page and plant were starting out, they told the members of the who that their idea was for a blues/rock band. keith moon is to have said, "that'll go over like a lead zeppelin".
No more late show with Stephen Colbert,....the network cancelled it.

that article attempts to show the economic side while never talking about profit received from the show.
i think most know the $16 million payment from cbs due to extortion was the reason.
They didn't just get rid of Colbert, they scrapped the whole "Late Night" show model that David Letterman started after he didn't get The Tonight Show when Carson died. There have been grumbles over the decades that the late night talk show format was stale and should go. I used to watch these things but now they're on after my bedtime.

If you don't know where you are going, you might wind up someplace else.
