Okay Bunny, give it up. Who was that?

bunicula

ok but you're gonna hate yourself for no knowing this

bunicula

dave bickler.  not a well known name but definitely a well known voice. he was replaced by jimi jamison soon after this album i think owing to medical issues.

HessianWarrior

Thanks Bunny, "Eye Of The Tiger" was the Rocky tune.

bunicula

survivor made lousy mtv videos though ;-)  there was a 30 minute music video compilation show called heart light city in the 80s.  can't find any reference to it today.  they kept playing lots of survivior songs.  especially this one with jimi.

It's amusing how rock bands particularly in the 80's went out of their way to show how they are bad muthaffers from the mean streets when they were really the dorky kids in high school band who got beat up a lot.

Agreed.

There are however some notable exceptions, Henry Rollins for instance. By far, the 'bad mutha' punk performer whom I most admire (and that's quite an accolade, coming from a Brit). I'm fairly confident nobody messed with that Rollins fella, ever, and not because he's 'tough' but simply because he burns too bright:

Henry Rollins is often praised for his searing intelligence (seek out an interview on YouTube, you'll see what I mean), but I don't think he's particularly intelligent; rather what you see there is a searing energy which leads him to use everything he has to the maximum effect. This is not quite the same thing, but a lesson for us all I feel.

I didn't know that - must have been that big gob of his! Yes he has mellowed, smiles a lot now, still insists that he's angry though, and for much the same reasons. Good for him.

Not like John Lydon, the last meaningful contribution he made to British culture was to advertise butter. The word "knob" springs to mind. Doesn't matter what Lydon does now or since, I'll never forgive him for this:

Surprised

I wouldn't mind half so much, but Country Life butter isn't even that good!

Henry Rollings was in a couple of episodes of "Sons Of Anarchy". He shows up at about the 2 miniute mark.
