Hilarious!
I've seen decent telescopes on e-bay for $800.00. They would easily be capable of capturing such a thing. Why not buy one and look for yourself?
For my part, I've had a C8 (8" SCT) and a C90 (3.5" Maksutov) for 25 years.
I have taken decent enough pictures of Mars from the 2003 apparition, and modest shots of Jupiter and Saturn. Of course Lunar pics. The two most recent bright comets.
I also have used the C90 for viewing the sun via projection but not for imaging.
So far it's been business as usual (i.e. I get what others get in terms of results) but still pretty amazing views.
When Jupiter got pelted by Shoemaker-Levy I got some shots of the black spots as they rotated into view.
Sounds really cool. Maybe some day I'll buy one. I look occasionally, but so far I decide to allocate my consumer surplus to other goods.
i dont want to comment on other peoples beleif s on the topic of religion. Since i my self at this point in my life choose not to be religious nor believe in all aspect of religion

i begun to make a comment , but refuse to prove my self that stupid . but with all that has been said already is more than enough to get us all banned from this site why would you add more fire to the flames ...as you can see we have gotten nowhere except to prove what idiotd we all are corriuean
I thought you and your friend Bex, were the only one's to prove that, little johnnie architect

No, I am sure I didn't say anything remotely ban worthy.
On the other hand, telling people they are a waste of flesh, to slap themselves seven billion times, set themselves on fire, etc. is probably ban worthy. Good thing we aren't a bunch of whiners.
Now can we get back to the subject?
Id like to see those pics.
The pics of the comet leaving black spots on Jupiter were from my film era, and in not the best atmospheric conditions, so they are not as impressive as they could be. Visual was better and one could see some detail in the spots.
My shots of Mars in 2003 using a digicam attached to the C8 sometimes came out well. in fact, using that digicam and my plebian C8 I got images about equal to the best results that professional observatories produced 25 years before.
It's the film vs. digital thing. Big advantage for digital (many shots taken quickly and stacked and processed vs. one slow film exposure[atmospheric turbulence recorded]).
I love you too sweet pea... i wll go play chess now ... after all this is a chess site ... and do not require as moch attention as you do
Jesuslizard! How many times are you going to announce you're leaving this thread?
I'm beginning to like you ... this is scary

Bex: About the probe, it is remotely possible that there was some sort of alien that destroyed the probe. however, there are much more likely explananations that envolve human error or mechanical malfunction. When Apollo 13 lost its oxygen no one claimed alieans. when the water pump in your car goes out, you don't blame aliens. things break. when unmanned probes break in space it is hard to figure out how. but hard to figure out does not mean aliens. also, it was phobos 2...phobos 1 also failed you have not mentinoed that aliens had something to do with that one. so, one had a normal malfuntion, design flaw, something yet the other one took a grainy, blurry, picture that people claim to be a ufo, so the ufo must have taken it out. it seems to be a large leap in logic and ignoring some obvious probabilities.
as for the bomb, the planet has major scars all over it from collisions wiht meteors, comets, etc. they are also still visible today. so, that is not a point of proof. also, radiation is natural. is it not possible that a comment with radioactive elements crashed into the earth. would that not be just as confusing to abraham as a bomb?
much of thr arguments for the ancient aliens seem to be that someone with a pet theory wants to prove aliens, so they look at different things with that idea in mind and formulate the data to match this. if anything int he ancient world is hard to explain, or even unexplainable, then they want to find something that makes it all make sense. so, they come to the conclusions that aliens must have done it. so, now we look at artifacts trying to see how they may seem like aliens. little statues of bugs become airplanes. obviously mesoamerican cultures did not have airplanes so it must have been an alien spacecraft. pyraminds are hard to build and are a bit grandeous for being just a tomb and monument to the pharoh, so perhaps it was an alien landing beacon.
is the ancient alien theory impossible? no, i would say it is not. i think that the odds of it are infintesimal. it seems that all of the evidence i've seen only proves aliens if you believe it already.
Goldendog i myself though have seen vids of objects that appear to be in front of the sun, even when filmed in infra red, im not saying it is nibiru, mirages have been mentioned, what is your take?
I'd have to look at the images to even begin to talk about such things. I might recognize it for something normal or have no idea what it is.
Provenance is very important in such matters, since everybody and their brother can massage images with software.
In the end we may say it's interesting but be unable to definitively id what the mystery object would be.
fair enough.

Give up on her, cut the attention she so desperately requires and hopefully she will go away and bother someone else, its not as if she has anything intelligent to say so its pointless wasting breath on such pond life.

Ive got to admit i dont know a great deal about astronomy and probably less about photography but i always like to learn and it sounds that you know your stuff. In all your time stargazing, have you ever seen anything out there that you cant explain and if you dont mind, what is your take on elenin?

Thanks for the comment, alveit slightly ambiguous.
I didnt mention phobos 1 because that was not under strange circumstances and neither is it the case when your car breaks down, there is nobody that has provided a decent explaination as to what happened to phobos 2 and if you know the backgound of it which you seem to you must admit that it is strange.
Meteors dont leave scars they leave dirty great holes in the ground, with what happened to the dead sea, the radiation, what abraham saw, the mistranslation of vapour into salt regarding his wifes death, and the fact that it was twice delayed after his conversations with the elohim all contribute to what really happened, not to mention the evacuation of sumer at the same time due to the "foul winds" that carried the radiation back towards sumer. The blackened and crushed rocks that still litter the desert there are unexplainable any other way, coincidence after coincidence after coincidence is no coincidence at all, when you cross reference from many different sources and those seperate sources confirm and support each other the way that they do it really does become indisputable.
The pyramids were never used as tombs, and those little golden "insects" found in mesoamerica are not insects at all, nowhere in nature will you find that upright tail fin that most of the ones ive ever seen posess so even though i appreciate a relevant comment for once i feel that if you looked a liitle deeper you might just have a revelation. The chances of the things i have outlined in this thread happening are indeed infinitesimal but then what are the odds of life developing independantly?
