First I heard of this Dr. Been.

Who is he? He said he was a teledoctor. What does that mean exactly? Personally, the credibility of someone who is a teledoctor would not be very high with me as I am picturing one of those quacks who are on TV everywhere with a miracle drug for everything.

That being said he seemed sensible in what he was saying and his general body conduct and language to be fair.

I don't know who he is personally, but I think he's said he's Pakistani, a medical doctor AND a software developer (I've noticed the C/C++ books on his bookshelf). He appears to stay away from the political issues, and his medically related info does seem to be reasonable.

Also, the guy who does the Medcram stuff on Youtube seems to be good.

You know the weird thing is in India, the medical body ICMR has said that it has found HCQ useful as a prophylactic.

It is tough to balance out exactly what is happening around the world with all these contradictory findings.

I suppose it would help if you didnt already have Covid19 to take HCQ to avoid getting Covid19. However if you get it then HCQ is not so useful and could even be detrimental in some cases

But it is known to cause heart arhythmia, so it is not good as a harmless preventative.

I guess I'll take the advice of The Lancet based on a study of over 90,000 people to avoid its use as a preventative.

Yeah, the info on HCQ is definitely conflicting - I'll be watching for further data.

A couple of things people seem to be saying is that chloroquine is more dangerous than hydroxychloroquine, and there's an increased chance of heart problems if the HCQ is also used with Z-pak (azithromycin). If I did use HCQ (and this latest study *is* discouraging), I'd also be getting checked with EKGs.

Also, the addition of vitamins C and D, and zinc appear to be helpful to using the HCQ protocol.

Also the thing with HCQ is that it alone is not doing the job but needs to be taken with an anti-biotic, azithromycin. So taking HCQ alone may not be having the desired results. Who knows.

They know. The study published in The Lancet looked at both taking hydroxychloroquine alone and with the antibiotic. Also, just taking chloroquine alone and others taking chloroquine in combination with the antibiotic.

/ They call the antibiotic a "macrolide".

/ Read it again.

/ Stop saying "who knows?"

/ No benefit shown together with an increased mortality.

/ Checkmate.
