What is the square root of -1?

Also hi player. Would you like another civilised discussion?

its j. Sometimes called i. The basic element of complex numbers.
That was civilized. And is.
the most beautiful equation is sometimes considered to be Euler's identity.
Which is e^(i x pi) = -1
Some other equations compete - like Einstein's equation E = m x (c^2)
And Newton's F =m x a
And Watts = volts x amps
and the wonderful wavelenth equation wavelength x frequency = c
which unlike the other four apparently has no particular person or persons thought to have derived it.

An imaginary number.

Did you see the guy going around claiming that 'Tau' was better than pi? I didn't read to much into it, it just seemed like a joke.

Messy. And the answer would still be algebraic.
You've got two unknowns with only one equation.
The 7's go out and so do the two minuses.
You'd end up with x-y = fourty-something

You’re on a night train traveling 80 mph and you are throwing a pair of underwear out the back window at a speed of about 25 mph when you were 30 minutes into your ride. How many miles away is the underwear from the train when it arrives at the station, and who does it belong to?
