Yes we are very lucky with the beautiful Classical music that has been written over the years.

Those folks with a SIRIUS radio will probably use channel 76 from time to time which features Classical music. This week is Bernstein week on channel 76 as Leonard Bernstein was born on Aug 25th.

With all of the problems that I recently had with my old PC I've missed a couple of big days here such as Sept 8th ( Dvorak in 1841 ) and Sept 25th ( Shostakovich in 1906 ).

Mostly I'm not a huge fan of Shostakovich, but anything that gives me an excuse for inserting Andre Rieu is a Good Thing.

The fifth symphony is great, but I'm not sure it's better than the ninth. Also the second movement from his seventh is a personal favorite.
